The sludge bucket, also known as the cone classifier, is a simple equipment for classification, desludge removal and concentration. Its appearance is an inverted cone. A feeding cylinder is set at the center of the liquid surface, and the bottom edge of the cylinder is submerged to a certain depth below the liquid surface. The slurry is fed into the center cylinder along the tangent direction and flows out from the bottom edge after buffering. The outflowing slurry flows radially to the surrounding overflow weir.
